The challenges of getting Ozzy to pose....
So when I was thinking about doing a sale on the bigfurrycat website, I decided that getting Ozzy to pose with a sale sign was a REALLY good idea and would be quirky and funny! "Easy", I thought, "lay the sale sign on him and snap away". Thus achieving cute picture in a matter of seconds, job done! Don't they always say, 'never work with children or animals'???! Now I see why.....
Then Boss Cat Boddie decided to get involved...

Ozzy's diary of a Sunday morning
7am - No response so climb onto window sill, peer through middle of the curtains, like on stage, then stretch out to climb onto bedside table thus opening curtains wide.
7.15am - Still no response so proceed to run around house at top speed and hare up stairs whilst meowing incredibly loudly.
7.30am - Have finally woken family (and neighbours / whole street) up. Nag Anna to hurry up and get downstairs by chewing everything in sight and jumping onto Boddie so that he disappears entirely underneath.
7.45am - Get into kitchen and sit looking forlornly at empty bowl. Look at Anna, look at bowl, look at Anna, look at bowl. You get the picture....
7.50am - Snaffle down entire bowl of food, shove Boddie out of the way to eat his. Once both bowls are empty, look forlornly at bowl, back to Anna, back to bowl, back to Anna....
7.55am - Sleep Zz z z z z z z z z z
Warning! Maine Coons are amazing cats but they wake early and eat LOADS! Wouldn't change him for the world!

A tale of 48 apples and 1000's of pearls!
My grandad passed away almost a year ago at the ripe old age of 93. A good innings as they say. Up until about a year before he died, he lived pretty much independently at a sheltered housing scheme in Lancing. My dad used to do internet shopping for him at Sainsburys. This worked very well until one day, my dad ordered 8 apples. The shopping arrived on time and was unpacked by my grandad's cleaner, she was slightly bemused as to why there were 8 bags of 6 apples, ok, my grandad liked apples but 48 of them?! Turned out that my dad had ordered 8 BAGS of apples. The tenants at the scheme were well fed in apples for the following week and the tale was re-told countless times.
It seems this runs in the family. I blame the genes! I had recently bought 750 8mm pearls for about £8.00 to make a pearly wreath. Turns out, a wreath as large as the one I decided to make, needed ALL those pearls and a few more. I was searching ebay (as you do!) looking for some more pearls and 'Bingo!', a 1000 pearls for, wait for it... £1.29! I couldn't believe my eyes, what an absolute bargain I thought. Such a bargain that I bought 8 lots of 1000 to save the postage. So, I waited anxiously for my pearls to arrive, all excited to finish my wreath. Then one day, a teeny tiny jiffy bag dropped though my letter box. I was confused, I hadn't ordered anything of that size. I ripped open the envelope and was bewildered to find 8 packets, each measuring about 2 inches square FULL of the smallest pearls you can imagine! BUM! Of course, it materialises that the pearls I had purchased were 2mm ones, not 8mm!
Lesson of the day, always read the precise ebay descriptions. Clear as anything, the description read '2mm pearls', SIGH!!
PS, I poured all 8000 pearls into a bowl to photograph them. Second lesson of the day, when returning said 8000 pearls to their pot, be very careful, I think I lost at least 50% when they dropped on the floor!
PPS, you can fully expect to see some teeny tiny pearl related items to appear on the website in the near future!

The sketchbook project
http://www.arthousecoop.com/projects/sketchbookproject
This is such a brilliant idea, if only someone in the UK could do a similar thing. Basically you buy a sketchbook from these guys then they send it out, you do some doodles and drawings on your selected theme then send it off to be displayed in New York. It then goes on a tour and you are updated whenever someone looks at it, genius!!
If it wasnt american based, I would so do this!!
If you happen to wander onto my blog, please don't forget to check out http://www.bigfurrycat.co.uk/ Thanks!

Time is ticking by...
Loving my latest clock, you can buy it here http://www.folksy.com/items/2439953-Whatever-Clock?shop=yes if you are that way inclined!!
Tried a new style on this one, handpainting the letters and numbers rather than sticking chipboard ones on, I think it's great! When someone does buy it, I shall be rather sad to see it go...!

'Jack be nimble Jack be quick, Jack jumped over my candle stick', well candle!
Pretty huh? We are planning a mass arrangement of these for the craft fair in November, they will look pretty striking I think. Need to put a warning on the bottom though not to light with decorations still attached! I am also making bauble wreaths (picture to follow) and might even make a tutorial for how to do them to put on here, just in case anyone interested!
Interesting day tomorrow, might have some job news if I am lucky!
Toodle pip!
